Are a visa and a passport required to enter Armenia?

How long can you stay in Armenia?

Is medical insurance compulsory when entering Armenia?

Medical insurance is required if you plan to stay in Armenia for work or study. The insurance will be valid until the national health insurance policy is issued (if there are grounds for this). Do I need a COVID-19 vaccination certificate when visiting Armenia?

From May 17, 2021, the following procedure for the entry of foreigners into the territory of Armenia is in effect.
Upon entry, a citizen of another country must:
1.provide a certificate with a negative result of a PCR test for COVID-19 carried out no later than 72 hours before entering the territory of the Republic of Armenia,
2. OR a certificate confirming full vaccination against coronavirus COVID-19 (two doses)։ the second dose must be administered at least 14 days before entering the country. That is, citizens with a green passport certifying vaccination with any vaccine will no longer need to undergo an additional PCR test to come to Armenia.

Those arriving from the Russian Federation provide a certificate using the "Travel COVID-19 Free" mobile application.


Attention! A negative test result / vaccination certificate is not required for children under 1 year of age.

If a person does not have a certificate, then he can (must) pass the test at the airport or sampling points, and also go to self-isolation until a negative result is obtained. If during this period symptoms of covid are detected, then the person is hospitalized. Treatment for foreigners is paid.

Employees of the Armenian Health and Labor Inspection Body at the border checkpoint immediately conduct an examination (including measuring the temperature, asking additional questions in case of clinical symptoms characteristic of an infection), and checking for a test certificate. If there are corresponding symptoms based on the examination results, then the person will be sent to the hospital.

 

If a newcomer refuses to provide a negative test or a certificate of vaccination, as well as to pass the test, then he must go into a 14-day quarantine (self-isolation). The Nork Infectious Diseases Hospital has been allocated for self-isolation, and the person who arrives pays for it, as well as the PCR test.

Test result and certificate requirements
The test results must be issued on a form with a signature and seal, which will contain all the contact information of the organization that made the study, the name of the leader, the name and surname of the person under study, the number of the identity document, year of birth and the result of the study.

The certificate must be in Armenian, English or Russian. The document must contain the following information։
- Contact details of the medical institution that conducted the study / vaccination, as well as the name of its manager.
- Name and surname of the tested / vaccinated person, passport number, date of birth, test result, name of the vaccine manufacturer, vaccine series, dates of the first and second doses.
- Signature of the head and seal of the medical institution.
