To extend the period of stay, you will need a visa, which can be obtained at the embassy of your country in the Republic of Armenia.
List of foreign embassies, consulates and representations in Armenia.
All visa requirements for citizens of all countries can be found on the official website of the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
From May 17, 2021, the following procedure for the entry of foreigners into the territory of Armenia is in effect.
Upon entry, a citizen of another country must:
1.provide a certificate with a negative result of a PCR test for COVID-19 carried out no later than 72 hours before entering the territory of the Republic of Armenia,
2. OR a certificate confirming full vaccination against coronavirus COVID-19 (two doses)։ the second dose must be administered at least 14 days before entering the country. That is, citizens with a green passport certifying vaccination with any vaccine will no longer need to undergo an additional PCR test to come to Armenia.
Those arriving from the Russian Federation provide a certificate using the "Travel COVID-19 Free" mobile application.
Attention! A negative test result / vaccination certificate is not required for children under 1 year of age.
If a person does not have a certificate, then he can (must) pass the test at the airport or sampling points, and also go to self-isolation until a negative result is obtained. If during this period symptoms of covid are detected, then the person is hospitalized. Treatment for foreigners is paid.
Employees of the Armenian Health and Labor Inspection Body at the border checkpoint immediately conduct an examination (including measuring the temperature, asking additional questions in case of clinical symptoms characteristic of an infection), and checking for a test certificate. If there are corresponding symptoms based on the examination results, then the person will be sent to the hospital.
If a newcomer refuses to provide a negative test or a certificate of vaccination, as well as to pass the test, then he must go into a 14-day quarantine (self-isolation). The Nork Infectious Diseases Hospital has been allocated for self-isolation, and the person who arrives pays for it, as well as the PCR test.
Test result and certificate requirements
The test results must be issued on a form with a signature and seal, which will contain all the contact information of the organization that made the study, the name of the leader, the name and surname of the person under study, the number of the identity document, year of birth and the result of the study.
The certificate must be in Armenian, English or Russian. The document must contain the following information։
- Contact details of the medical institution that conducted the study / vaccination, as well as the name of its manager.
- Name and surname of the tested / vaccinated person, passport number, date of birth, test result, name of the vaccine manufacturer, vaccine series, dates of the first and second doses.
- Signature of the head and seal of the medical institution.
It will not be difficult to rent or buy an apartment, a house with a garden or a mansion in Yerevan. It doesn't matter - in the center of the capital or somewhere in a residential area.

Armenia is located in the northeastern part of the Armenian Highlands. It is a mountainous landlocked country. In the north, the country borders on Georgia, in the south - with Iran, in the east - with Azerbaijan, in the west - with Turkey. Geographically, Armenia is Asia, although culturally closer to Europe.
Is Armenia in Europe or Asia? Many consider Armenia to be part of Europe, although in reality it is located in Asia.
Mount Ararat, the most replicated image of Armenia, is in fact now located on the territory of modern Turkey, 32 km from the state border of Armenia. Formerly sacred to all Armenians, Mount Ararat was located on the territory of Western Armenia, which remained part of the Ottoman Empire.
Time difference from UTC +4. International designation Armenia Time (AMT).
Daylight saving time is not used in Armenia, therefore UTC is constant all year round. There is one time zone throughout the country.
The IANA time zone identifier for Armenia is Asia / Yerevan.
For example, the time difference with Moscow, Kiev and Minsk is 1 hour, that is, when it is 17:00 in Russia, it is already 18:00 in Armenia.
Armenia is actually located at a subtropical latitude, but the country has a subtropical climate only in the south. The rest of the territory is dominated by a continental mountain climate. Regardless of the season, the weather, due to the difficult landscape and altitude, can be strikingly different even within the same city. For example, even within Yerevan, the temperature difference between the two regions can reach 4-5 degrees.
Yes, it's safe. There is a low crime rate in Armenia. Statistically, the tourist is not in any danger. People are not stolen in Armenia, and home thefts are very rare. Although it is worth being careful in public transport. In Armenia, you can safely walk at night, let your children go to the yard during the day without supervision and not worry about the safety of your property. However, no one canceled the rules of respect for the traditions and laws of the owners of the house, and of common sense, of course.
In Armenia, foreigners are treated friendly and open. A foreigner will always be helped to fill out the necessary documents, will prompt the address and, in general, will help in every possible way. It is not for nothing that Armenian hospitality is famous all over the world.
For tourists there is even their own police, they are called "Angels", you can see them on the streets, they are in blue uniforms. Their task is to help people.
